and it begins

Yeeeehhhhhhh little spawn is on its way. I'm so excited :). Due at the start of November so I am 3 months along. The last 2 months have been hard. I have been really sick (everyday) so need to take medication to stop myself from losing all my food. Aside from also being tired all the time I just cant believe that its actually happening. I don't feel any movement and don't really show yet so its still pinh yourself so you don't forget :).

Storybrook

Now I love the fabrics that I used to make this quilt. I purchased them when I was in America over new years on my honeymoon (needed an extra suit case to fit all the fabric I got :)) and was waiting for the perfect project that I could use these awesome organic fabrics from Birch fabrics (just quietly I cant wait for their knits to come out).

I saw a quilt on pinterest  cross quilt and knew straight away that I wanted to do something the same. I love the colours of this quilt they are so soothing and I love how the yellow and red pop to catch the eye. 

wait maybe its the grey, I don't know I just love this whole quilt, and the cute little animals like the deer and squid.

I backed the quilt with strips of the cotton couture from Michael Miller in colours to match the front. 

I like how the strips make the quilt look kind of nautical. As usual I spent the most time deciding on binding for the quilt. I think that binding makes or breaks the quilt. I did have this blue for the bibs and burp clothes that I also make but I just had to use it for this quilt and I think it looks awesome. 

I'll miss this quilt when it goes. Maybe make one for myself as usual I did cut out too much fabric (I never measure how much I need before I just start cutting and go wild).
